Today’s tasty Korean treat is a Roasted Seasoned Seaweed snack. I picked this savory treat from an H-Mart, but I’ve seen similar products at the local Kroger as well.
For those of you that have never tried seaweed snacks, they are similar in flavor as cooked spinach. This particular snack has a lightly salted flavor. They have a thin, papery texture to them, so they wouldn’t seem filling, but they are surprisingly satisfying.
The package has 2.25 servings in it, but if you ate the entire package (9 palm sized sheets) it’s only 22 1/5 calories and about 2 grams of fat! This particular snack contains about 25 mg sodium per serving, which is lower on the salt spectrum than some other seaweed snacks.
Why are seaweed snacks so popular? Seaweed contains high levels of vitamins A and C as well as calcium and is a good way to get your daily vegetables in. It’s just a fun way to eat your veggies. I rather enjoyed this treat. It had good flavor and texture, and I didn’t have to feel guilty eating it. I would pick these up again if given the chance.☺️
Have you tried seaweed snacks before? If so, what flavor is your favorite?
