When you think of Jessi, you probably think of all the collaborations she’s done and the songs that she’s featured in, but did you know that she’s also done a few OSTs?
Engraved – Glamorous Temptation
Glamorous Temptation aired in late 2015 to early 2016 and ran for 50 episodes on MBC. The series starred Joo Sang-Wook, Choi Kang-Hee, and Cha Ye-ryun and followed three characters: an ambitious woman, the woman who is jealous of her, and a man on a quest for vengeance.
Jessi sings the third OST for this drama, called Engraved, and the hint of rasp in her voice really suits the emotions present in this song. I enjoy the pace of it and the chorus flows nicely. This is something I could definitely see myself having on repeat!
My Romeo – Cinderella with Four Knights
Cinderella with Four Knights is a tvN drama that aired in 2016 and was based on a web novel of the same name. Drawing parallels to Boys Over Flowers, the story follows a group of passionate people in their 20s who all live together. This series stars Park So-dam, Jung Il-woo, Ahn Jae-hyun, Lee Jung-shin, Choi Min, and Son Na-eun.
Only looking at the title, I very much so expected this to be a ballad or, at the very least, a slower, breathy song. Imagine my surprise when the song starts and I’m hit with a rather fantastic brass section and an almost jazzy beat. Despite this initial assumption, My Romeo is a really fun song and I couldn’t help but to smile while listening to it.
Despite not having a lengthy list of OSTs to her name, Jessi still shines in the few that she’s done! They both show a different side of the hip-hop goddess and and I can’t help but to fall in love. I can’t wait to hear more OSTs from Jessi in the future. What do you guys think?
