Jessica’s Acting Career

Besides her role as an idol, and a designer and CEO of a fashion brand, Jessica has had her hand in acting as well. Both on the stage and in front of the camera, Jessica has put her all into her roles. In late 2009 through 2010, Jessica took on the role of the lead character, Elle Woods, in the korean musical adaptation of Legally Blonde along with Lee Hannui and Kim Jiwoo. She reprised the role again in 2012 through 2013.

She did several tv programs, like Infinity Challenge, where she sang a duet with MC Park Myungsoo, and Beauty Bible where she was the main host alongside Kim Jae-Kyung. She also featured on Mix Nine as a representative for Coridel Entertainment.

She did a few cameos as herself on both tv programs and movies. One was I Am, a documentary about SM Town, the concert festivals held by SM Entertainment, the company that started her career with Girls Generation and later, her solo career. But she and idol sister, F(x)’s Krystal did a reality show that took off. Named Jessica & Krystal, the show spanned two seasons, following their life as international Korean-American idols. Season one showcased their life in Korea, while the second season followed them home to California, USA, and the life they maintained here on the other side of the world.

She also played a supporting role in a popular korean drama Wild Romance, her first large role in any drama, in 2012 and took on several small roles in films and documentaries. Whether playing a gang member, a teacher, or just herself, Jessica has proven that she isn’t afraid to take on a challenge. If you get the chance, go check out one of these programs or movies.
