Hwasa has featured in quite a lot of songs since she debuted with artists such as HIGH4:20, PHANTOM, Park Shin-hye, Woodie Gochild, Dua Lipa and many more. These are my favourites….will yours make the list?
“Fingernail” – PHANTOM
PHANTOM was the first kpop group I ever listened to and pairing them with Hwasa was bound to create something amazing! “Fingernail” gives me such an early 2000’s pop vibe and I have so much nostalgia listening to it. I love the smooth sound and it’s really easy to just drift along through the song.
“DDANG” – Suran
There’s something to be said about an off-the-wall, catchy chorus! The style of this reminded me a bit of “Like a G6”, a song I used to get stuck in my head rather often. While I do love this song, it’s something that I only listen to every once in awhile as the repetitive nature of the chorus can get a bit grating sometimes. I do love the fun and whacky nature of the song though…it’s a really great change of pace.
“HookGa” – HIGH4:20
“HookGa” is one of those songs that you just can’t be mad at. No matter what mood you go into it with, by the end you’re jamming and your previous mood has been forgotten. Hwasa has such a sexy and commanding presence, even though her part is short, and she blends well with Alex and Youngjun. This was a great era too and I absolutely adore the choreo (even though I never was a fan of the whole dab craze).
“Physical” – Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa is a queen in her own right but when you add Hwasa…..it’s legendary. These two together are such a great team and I fell in love with “Physical” as soon as I heard it. It’s an absolute bop and listening to it makes me want to dance with my horrible, non-rhythmic skills. It’s such a fun and upbeat song to hear and it always puts me in a better mood.
These are some of my favourite songs that Hwasa has featured in! Did your favourite song make the list?
