“Angels don’t have halos or ruffled wings. They’re candles in the dark when you can’t see.”
On December 11th, Leo Xia released a brand new video for his single ‘Angels’. Filmed near a set of railroad tracks, the song is a gentle dedication to all those who love you unconditionally, even in your darkest moments. Leo wrote the song when a friend’s family member unexpectedly passed and he was reminded of the pain he felt when his own grandmother passed away.
Leo Xia has such a pure, beautiful tone and listening to this song almost felt like I was being hugged by his voice. The video was stunning and, paired with Leo’s thought-provoking lyrics, struck me to the core. Director, Tiffany Stevens, did an absolutely amazing job in capturing the raw emotion of the song and letting the viewers soak in those feelings throughout the video.
With everything that has happened this year, ‘Angels’ was exactly the security blanket I needed as 2020 is finally ending. A reminder to appreciate the people I have while I can and a dedication to those that have stood before me, this song may well be one of my favourite things to come out of this year!
